October is officially Zombie Preparedness Month in the State of Kansas! See, I'm
not joking. Need more proof? The
CDC is also in on this!
Do YOU have an emergency kit ready?

What can you do in Jefferson County for the Zombie Apocalypse? Get your flu shot!!! Ok, there might not be a direct correlation, but hey, it might save you a sick day or two this winter (I know, I know, you've never been sick a day in your life....whatever) but more importantly, you won't become a flu-zombie by carrying the flu virus to children & the elderly who are at greater risk of getting really really sick.
So head out to the Jefferson County Health Department! Flu shots are $25 plus you get to meet some of our totally awesome nurses.
Tuesdays & Fridays: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Additional OCTOBER Flu Clinics:
Tuesdays (Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25) from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Saturdays (Oct. 8 & 15 only) from 8:30 am - 11:00 am
FYI: Saturday Oct. 8 is tomorrow....just a hint.
And on a non-zombie note-
KDOT released their T-WORKS
road construction update website with lots of maps & data (I got pretty excited about this, but I'm also a nerd). Under the Basic Search, you can pick Jefferson County & hit GO to see a map of planned construction, start dates and project costs. Looks like there's some big stuff coming up! The phrase "Perry: U24 & Ferguson & Linn, traffic signal & bypass" has peaked my curiosity.
