What you Need to Know Before You Hire
- All pre-employment tests must be received before the applicant is allowed to begin work.
- Health Insurance will be effective the first of the month following 30 days from the date of hire.
- KPERS starts immediately upon hire date.
- Leave benefits (like sick and vacation) don’t start until the beginning of the 1st full pay period after the hire date.
- New hires need to sign up for benefits as soon as possible after hire date.
- Make an appointment with the Clerk's office for orientation of your new employee, (allow at least an hour).
- New hires should bring the following to the Clerk’s office when filling out their paperwork: Driver’s License, Social Security Card or Passport, Direct Deposit bank information, Names, Birth dates and Social Security numbers of those to be listed on the health insurance plan.
