The Jefferson County Health Department continues to monitor residents in quarantine and those who are pending results per the Kansas Department of Health and Environment surveillance system.
On May 3rd at midnight the governor’s Stay at Home order will expire. The Governor will be issuing a new order that we give guidance on social distancing restrictions. Local County Health Officials will be meeting on Friday, May 1st to discuss social distancing measures for Jefferson County. Although many are eager to get back to normalcy, it is important that we reopen the county in a manner that is safe for all county residents. We are thankful for the low number of residents that have had health impacts from COVID- 19 and are thankful to our community, who in most part, has done a great job in staying home and social distancing. We continue to believe this has made a large impact on the amount of cases that have been reported in Jefferson County.
